What are the different kinds of content?

There are 4 different types of content: courses, resources, assessments and surveys. It's important to understand the distinction between courses and resources. A course is an interactive, robust curriculum that drive learners toward a clear goal through lessons. The learner will be tested for understanding throughout a course with multiple choice and open response questions and will earn either a "passed" or needs improvement" certificate upon completion. Resources are supplemental materials like videos, podcasts, novels, documentaries, practice tests and more. Resources will not provide a certificate, but will reflect on a learner transcript to show engagement.

How do learners search for and find content?

Learners are able to explore tens of thousands of hours of content ranging from elementary and secondary education, job skills and resume building, to anger management and parenting content. There's something for everyone. Content can be explored by diving into categories or using a search bar. Learn more about exploring content here.

How does a learner review and start a course?

Edovo is a self-directed platform that lets learners learn at their own pace, start and stop whenever they want, and pick up right where they left off. Reviewing and starting a course is easy. Read this article for more details.

What are learning paths?

Learning paths are curated collections of content grouped together by a subject area, similar to a curriculum. Each path offers multiple levels, with a mix of required and optional materials. Learners can save any Learning Path to their My Edovo profile for easy access and quick starts.

How can learners pick up where they left off?

Edovo allows learners to learn at your own pace and resume any content – course or resource. Learners can get back to content they've previously started by navigating to their My Edovo profile.

What are certificates and transcripts? What's the difference?

Edovo tracks learner progress through certificates and transcripts, making it easy to celebrate and share their achievements with family and friends, attorneys, judges and anyone else.
  1. Certificates are earned for each course a learner completes, either with a "passed" or "needs improvement" score based on whether or not the learner meets the passed criteria displayed in the course description. Learner's can only earn certificates for courses - not resources, surveys or assessments, as there is not testing component any any other content type other than a course.
  2. transcript is a comprehensive learning report - like a report card. It provides a detailed record of all of a learner's activity on Edovo, including time spent on resources, not just courses. Read more information on certificates and transcripts and how agencies use them in this article.

What criteria does a learner need to meet to pass a course?

Edovo tracks learner progress through certificates and transcripts, making it easy to celebrate and share their achievements with family and friends, attorneys, judges and anyone else.

What criteria does a learner need to meet to pass a course?

When a learner completes a course, they receive one of two potential final scores. 1) Passed, meaning the learner met all requirements for completing the course with evidence of effort, meaningful engagement, and a sufficient grasp of the material; or 2) Needs Improvement, meaning the Learner failed to meet at least one of the requirements deemed necessary to pass.

Final scores are displayed on certificates and transcripts as well as within the Learn app. Learn more about pass criteria here.
