Step 2: Prepare Your Content for Upload

Step 2: Prepare your content for upload (Edovo Editor vs. Edovo spreadsheet)

Edovo Editor vs. Edovo spreadsheet—which path is yours?

You’ve got meaningful content and a mission that matters. Now it’s time to choose how to upload it: Will learners be invited to interact, or will they simply absorb?

This decision determines whether your content is built in the Edovo Editor or uploaded via Edovo Spreadsheet. The path you choose shapes not just how your content is delivered—but how it’s experienced.

Your cheat sheet for this article

  • Two upload paths: Use the Edovo Editor for interactive, active learning content; use the Edovo Spreadsheet for passive, stand-alone resources.

  • Use the Editor for: Courses, Interactive Resources, Surveys.

  • Use the Spreadsheet for: Videos, Podcasts, PDFs, Audiobooks, eBooks, Sermons.

  • Before uploading, make sure you have: a signed agreement, your content files, folder access, and either Editor credentials or the Edovo-Provided Spreadsheet.

Two upload paths, one purpose

Option 1: Active learning — use the Edovo Editor

If your content includes a curriculum, questions, prompts, or assessments, it’s considered active learning.
That means you'll use the
Edovo Editor to build structured, interactive content right on the platform.

Choose this option if your goal is to:

  • Guide learners through a structured curriculum or experience

  • Include quizzes, reflections, or open-ended questions

  • Track engagement beyond time spent

This path is best for:

  • Courses

  • Interactive Resources

  • Surveys

Option 2: Passive learning — use the Edovo Spreadsheet

If your content is meant to be read, watched, or listened to without any required learner response, it’s passive learning.
In this case, you’ll upload your files and content details using the
Edovo-provided spreadsheet.

Choose this option if your goal is to:

  • Share audio, video, or reading content for inspiration, exploration, or instruction

  • Deliver one-time resources without quizzes or feedback

  • Upload multiple items quickly and clearly

This path is best for:

  • Videos

  • Podcasts

  • eBooks and PDFs

  • Sermons or newsletters

  • Audiobooks

Still deciding?

Here’s a simple question to guide you:

Do I want learners to engage with questions or reflections?

  • If yes: Choose active learning and use the Edovo Editor.

  • If no: Choose passive learning and use the Edovo Spreadsheet.

You can also mix formats—starting with one and layering in the other later.

What you’ll need before you upload

  • Signed content agreement from Edovo

  • Your content files: MP4, MP3, or PDF (must meet format requirements)

  • Icons (500x500 JPEG or PNG)

  • Your assigned Resources and Icons folders

  • A completed spreadsheet (for passive content) or login credentials (for Editor users)
