What Edovo's Working On

What Edovo's Working On

Edovo's mission is to improve the lives of everyone connected to incarceration.

In 2023, we focused on elevating Edovo's digital learning experience, making it as user-friendly and impactful as its counterparts outside of Corrections. This year, we're building on that success with three key areas:
  1. Guiding Learners to Success: We'll help learners navigate the platform and find the most relevant coursework for their needs.

  2. Celebrating Achievements: Learners will have tools to better track progress and share accomplishments with loved ones.

  3. Empowering Agency Staff: We'll provide facility staff with the tools they need to maximize Edovo's rehabilitative impact.

Things to Celebrate from Q1 2024
  1. Streamlined Access: We've implemented single sign-on for learners at facilities with ViaPath and Securus partner tablets. This means easier access to learning materials with just one login, allowing them to focus on what matters most – their rehabilitative journey.

  2. Staying Connected and Sharing Achievements: Learners can now share transcripts with loved ones on the outside through a secure self-service portal. This fosters a sense of connection and allows family and friends to celebrate milestones along the way. Below is an image of the self-service interface (left) and an image of an Edovo certificate (right). Learn more about how to access learner transcripts directly from the Edovo website here.

Coming in June 2024
  1. Smart Progress Tracking: We're revamping the progress tracking system in both the learner application (Edovo Learn) and the admin application (Edovo Insight). This new interface will provide a clearer picture of learner progress, automatically recommend course retakes for courses that were not passed, and ensure learners stay on track to achieve their goals.

  2. Meaningful Recognition: Get ready for redesigned certificates and transcripts that focus on celebrating successful course completion and deemphasize low effort completions. These improvements will provide learners will a tangible symbol of their hard word and dedication, motivating them to continue their growth journey.

Around the Corner in Q3 2024

We're constantly enhancing Edovo to empower agencies and provide concrete benefits for incarcerated individuals. By focusing on performance-driven education, we can advance tangible outcomes that can truly make a different in their lives, such as:
  1. Earned Time and Participation Earned CreditsAgencies across the Nation are using Edovo programming engagement toward earned, participation and milestone credits to be used toward their sentences.

  2. Level Reduction: Agencies allow participation in Edovo programs to contribute towards reduced time spent in Restricted Housing Units (RHUs), Secure Housing Units (SHUs), Disciplinary sentences and security levels driven by positive engagement with programming.

  3. Future Opportunities: Edovo can help individuals unlock further opportunities like proctored exams, eligibility for specialized in-person or post-release programs, and even certifications demonstrating acquired skills.
The images below showcase mockups of how Edovo is planning to display program eligibility for tangible outcomes like those mentioned above.

Up Next On the Roadmap
  1. Customizable Assessments: Introduce customizable assessments to dive deeper into learner needs, matching them with the most relevant courses to maximize their learning journey.
  2. Improved Learning Path Navigation: We're making it easier for learners to find and engage with Learning Paths. Staff using Edovo Insight will also be able to assign and track learner progress through Edovo's most beneficial programs.
  3. Maximize Impact: Help agencies gain valuable insight into which programs align with their specific goals, allowing for a more data-driven approach and maximizing the positive impact on learners.
  4. Restricted Content: Allow facilities with the flexibility to restrict access to specific content based on learner needs, ensuring a tailored learning experience.
  5. Multi-facility Management: Allow administrative staff at large agencies to more easily manage Edovo across all facilities at once.
  6. Better Progress Tracking: Demonstrate learner improvement with pre- and post-assessments within courses to provide a clearer picture of learner progress.

By focusing on learner success and agency staff empowerment, Edovo continues to pave the way for positive change.
