What to do if you can't upload more files to our shared Google Drive

Running out of storage on Google Drive? You're not alone—and you're not stuck.

If you're collaborating with Edovo and the files you’re uploading are part of our shared content, there’s a simple workaround: transfer ownership of those files to Edovo.

Why this works

When you create a file, you remain the owner—even if you’ve shared it with us. That means the file continues to count against your storage limit, not ours.

But when you transfer ownership to Edovo:

  • The file stays in our shared folder

  • The storage space is now counted against Edovo’s storage, not yours

  • You regain valuable space in your Google Drive

How to transfer ownership

  1. Right-click on the file in Google Drive

  2. Make sure it’s shared with content@edovo.org

  3. Next to our role (e.g., Editor), click the dropdown

  4. Select “Make owner”

  5. Confirm the transfer

Once the ownership switches to Edovo, your space should free up.

We're actively working on a better long-term solution—but for now, this is the best way to keep projects moving without hitting storage walls.
