Tips for Differentiating Content

Tips for Differentiating Content

As you build your lessons, keep in mind the following:

“Everybody is a genius.
But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” - Albert Einstein

Whether Einstein actually said this or not is besides the point. What’s crucial to keep in mind is that
every learner learns and expresses their knowledge in different ways. So, try to diversify how you
present your content by including materials that speak to the different multiple intelligences
To diversify your content ask yourself:
  • Do I have images that represent key points?

  • Have I incorporated music?

  • Are there moments for learners to use their mind-body connection to process information?

  • Are there opportunities to analyze and create involving oral and written language?

  • Are there opportunities to reflect on or solve abstract problems?

  • Did I include prompts to guide learners to recognize and understand their desires and motivations?
