THINKING FOR THE FUTURE
Join a group therapy session led by two experts in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) -- Jennifer Luther and Dr. Paula Smith. CBT is a form of mental health treatment that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. The participants are serving time at a work-release center in Indiana and have volunteered their time to share their experiences and work through the lessons with the instructors.

Introduction:
This video series features group therapy sessions led by two experts in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) -- Jennifer Luther and Dr. Paula Smith. CBT is a form of mental health treatment that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. The participants are serving time at a work-release center and have volunteered their time to work through the lessons with the instructors and share their experiences. Dr. Paula Smith is the Director of the Corrections Institute at the University of Cincinnati and an Assistant Professor in the School of Criminal Justice. She has a great deal of experience in the field as a recognized researcher, author, and evaluator. Currently, she provides training and technical assistance to criminal justice agencies throughout the United States and Canada. Jennifer D. Luther is a Research Associate at the Corrections Institute at the University of Cincinnati, with more than 20 years of experience in education and criminal justice. Ms. Luther has developed several cognitive-behavioral curricula and has trained hundred of criminal justice professionals in evidence-based practices. She was inspired to jump into this field after being the target of gang violence and seeing the profound effect on both her and the perpetrator. Ms. Luther is passionate about evidence-based programming, and our individual and collective ability to effect positive change.
