How to create a learner account on Edovo
If your facility uses ViaPath, Securus, or ATG tablets, learners do not need to create a separate Edovo account or remember another login, so everything listed below this green box does not apply to learners at your facility.
When a learner signs into their tablet using their normal tablet ID, they are automatically signed into Edovo at the same time. This is called Single Sign-On, but all it really means is one login instead of two.
For learners, the experience is simple:
-
They turn on their tablet
They log in the same way they always do
-
Edovo opens when the app is pressed
Because of this, any additional login or account information listed below does not apply to learners at your facility. Everything they need is already handled through their existing tablet login.
For facilities that don't have tablets with SSO, follow these steps:
-
Start by opening Edovo and clicking the "Create Account" button.
Depending on the facility configuration, the learner will start by entering either their first and last name or their Learner ID.
-
The learner will need to tap the text box which will bring up a keyboard to type with. Once the fields are filled in the learner will type “next”.
-
The Learner ID is typically a permanent ID number at the facility rather than a booking ID. If unsure, please escalate to a facility staff member or peer. The ID that is used must match the assigned ID number at the facility. Once the ID is input, click next.
-
Enter the birthdate that matches the ID number. If the birth date entered does not match the facility system, an error message will appear to prompt the learner to correct the entered date of birth. Once the correct date of birth is entered, the learner can progress.
-
The next step is to create a password. The password must be between 6-15 characters and include at least one number and one letter. This password must be remembered as this is what will be used to log in each time to Edovo.
-
Next, the learner will be prompted to choose and answer two security questions. This is important because if the password is forgotten, it is these questions and answers that will allow the learner to reset them. After the two security questions are chosen and answered, the learner will have the opportunity to review what they submitted, correct any errors and then submit their registration.
At this point, their registration is complete and the learner will be prompted to log in to the Edovo platform.
