(FOR CONTENT PROVIDERS) Closed captioning and subtitles on Edovo

At Edovo, accessibility is a core part of our mission to ensure all Learners can engage meaningfully with content. To support this, we offer closed captioning services through AWS (Amazon Web Services) for video and audio content.

What We Provide

  • Automatic Closed Captioning
All video and audio content published on Edovo includes automated closed captions in both English and Spanish, powered by AWS transcription services.

  • Learner Control
Learners have the ability to turn captions on or off during playback, allowing for a customizable viewing experience.

If You Prefer Native Subtitles

If you would like to include native subtitles—for example, subtitles that display in a specific language or reflect creative or instructional choices—you will need to embed them directly into your video file (also known as "burned-in" subtitles).
Currently, Edovo does not support uploading separate subtitle files (e.g., SRT, VTT) alongside a video.

Best Practices for Partners

If your content includes important on-screen text or translation elements that should remain visible at all times:

  • Please ensure those subtitles are burned into the video file before submission.

  • Videos with embedded subtitles should still be submitted in standard MP4 format for compatibility.
